"A Year of Illumination: Lighting the Path to SOL Learning Center's Journey and Future!"

Updated: Jan 30

As I sit down to reflect on the incredible journey of SOL Learning Center's inaugural year, my heart brims with gratitude and excitement. I am Tatiana Alexander, the proud founder of SOL Learning Center, and it brings me joy to share with you the transformative milestones we've achieved in 2023 and our ambitious plans for the new year.

A Year of Blossoming Minds: Celebrating 2023

Clinton Garden Club:

We cultivated more than just plants; we nurtured a love for nature and inquiry. The Clinton Garden Club became a space where young minds could dig deep into the mysteries of the natural world.

1:1 Tutoring in Math, Reading, and Writing:

Tailoring education to meet the unique needs of each student has been our guiding principle. Through 1:1 tutoring, we've witnessed academic blossoms in the fields of math, reading, and writing for elementary and middle school students.

Homeschool Tutorial:

Science isn't just a subject; it's an exploration. Our Homeschool Tutorial turned learning into an adventure, making science and engineering come alive for our young scholars.

Homeschool Field Trips:

Learning extends beyond walls. Through exhilarating field trips, we've transformed the world into a classroom, igniting curiosity and passion. Our field trips have allowed us to expand our horizons as we meet more homeschooling families who share our mission and values.

Home School Portfolio Preparation Workshops:

Every journey deserves to be documented. Our portfolio preparation workshops empowered caregivers to showcase their child’s growth and achievements, turning a collection of work samples and photos into a narrative of their unique educational adventure.

Homeschool Community Hub and Monthly Support Group:

The power of community is immeasurable. Our Homeschool Community Hub and monthly support group is becoming a haven where caregivers and learners alike can share resources, insights, challenges, and triumphs.

Recipient of a $10,000 Micro-Grant:

The VELA Education Fund's generous micro-grant is a beacon of support, allowing us to dream even bigger and reach higher in our mission to revolutionize education.

Dreams of the Future: Expanding Horizons

As we step into 2024, the excitement is palpable. Our goal is not just to continue but to expand and improve. We're setting our sights high and envisioning:

1. Hiring Passionate Educators: We aim to bring on board more educators who share our fervor for education reform, creating a team dedicated to nurturing and guiding young minds.

2. Acquiring Training, Materials, and Technology: Education evolves, and so must we. Additional training, curated curriculum materials, and cutting-edge technology will enhance our ability to provide a top-notch educational experience.

3. Launching Drop-in Scientific Method Course and Homeschool Travel Club: New horizons call for new adventures. The launch Drop-in Scientific Method Course and Homeschool Travel Club promises exciting opportunities for hands-on learning and exploration.

4. Building a Facility: Our dream of offering a 4-day micro school program is taking shape. We're embarking on the journey to build a facility that will be a hub of learning, creativity, and community support.
