About SOL

At SOL (Soul) Learning Center, we believe that learning is a journey; one that flourishes with the right care, environment, and community. Just as every plant needs sunlight, nourishment, and space to grow, every child needs Support, Opportunities, and love to thrive.

We partner with families to provide enrichment opportunities. Whether your children are Sprouts just beginning their journey, Seedlings finding their strengths, or Buds ready to bloom, they are nurtured by our dedicated Gardeners (educators and mentors) who guide them with care, encouragement, and meaningful challenges.

The Gathering Place Capitol Heights, Umbrella

We partner with The Gathering Place, a recognized MSDE umbrella oversight program, to support families in meeting Maryland's homeschooling requirements. Through this partnership, families can receive portfolio oversight, mentorship, and a supportive spiritual foundation for their home instruction journey.

VELA Education Fund

Thanks to the support of the VELA Education Fund, we’ve expanded our enrichment offerings and learning spaces, including our project-based science labs and nature-based co-learning community. VELA empowers everyday entrepreneurs who are creating innovative, learner-centered environments.

As members of the Kind Academy Founders Network, we collaborate with a growing community of microschool leaders committed to equity, flexibility, and child-centered learning. This network supports us with professional learning, coaching, and inspiration as we grow.

Our connection to The Microschooling Center keeps us informed and equipped with the latest tools, research, and resources in the microschooling movement. This partnership helps ensure that our model reflects best practices in learner-driven education and grassroots innovation.
